Everyday metabolic wellness and a healthy weight depend on many inputs: diet, physical activity, sleep and stress among them. Nutrition plays a supporting role. Pureberb by Excelgenics combines berberine with fenugreek seed extract as a food supplement to support normal metabolism, as part of a broader lifestyle approach.
Berberine and Cellular Energy Pathways
In laboratory studies, berberine activates AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), an enzyme involved in how cells sense and use energy. These are normal metabolic processes.
Berberine is not a weight-loss agent. The US National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NIH) notes that there are few clinical trials and not enough rigorous evidence to say whether berberine helps with weight loss. A 2025 meta-analysis of 12 small trials in people with metabolic conditions reported an average waist reduction of about 3 cm compared with placebo, but the trials varied widely and few were high quality. Body weight is determined primarily by energy balance, activity and overall diet.
Fenugreek, Appetite and Satiety

Whole fenugreek seed is rich in galactomannan, a soluble fibre that slows gastric emptying and carbohydrate absorption, which is why fenugreek has been studied for fullness after meals. Those effects come from grams of seed fibre. Pureberb contains a saponin-standardised extract, 100 mg a day, which should not be expected to have the same effect on fullness.
Why the Two Are Combined
Berberine has been studied mainly for its effects inside cells; fenugreek mainly in the digestive tract. Whether combining them adds anything beyond either alone has not been established.
A Note on Hormonal Balance

Berberine has been studied in small trials in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), but a 2019 review found no solid evidence that it improves clinical outcomes. Pureberb is not a treatment for PCOS or any hormonal condition. If you have irregular periods or other hormonal symptoms, see a doctor for assessment.
Who Might Consider Pureberb
Pureberb is intended for adults who want to support normal metabolism as part of a balanced diet and active lifestyle. It is not intended for children.
Take 1 tablet twice daily, 15–30 minutes before meals, with water. Digestive side effects are the most common. Berberine interacts with many medicines via CYP liver enzymes and may add to the effect of diabetes and blood-pressure medicines. Not for pregnancy, breastfeeding or infants. If you have any diagnosed health condition, or take prescription medication, consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.
In Summary
Pureberb combines berberine with a saponin-standardised fenugreek extract and is made under an FSSAI licence. Its role is to support normal metabolism alongside sensible diet and activity, not to replace either.
